The Southern Mindanao Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church recently hosted a significant event for family ministry leaders. The Adventist Family Ministries Trainer’s Training took place on September 26-27, 2025, at the JMW Wong Multi-Purpose Building. This training aimed to equip leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge to empower families and build strong foundations.
With the theme “Building Strong Foundations: Empowering Families for Life,” the training emphasized the importance of nurturing families and strengthening marriages. The event was designed to provide ministry leaders and churches with tools and resources to support families in their journey towards spiritual growth and harmony.

The Southern Mindanao Mission, which covers General Santos City, South Cotabato, and Sarangani, has been actively promoting family ministries as part of its mission to serve the community. With 237 churches and over 127,017 members, the mission recognizes the vital role families play in shaping the next generation.
During the training, participants likely explored topics such as effective communication, conflict resolution, and parenting strategies. They may have also discussed ways to create meaningful family worship experiences and nurture spiritual growth in children. By equipping leaders with these skills, the training aimed to strengthen family bonds and promote harmony within families.

By investing in family ministries, the Southern Mindanao Mission is working towards building stronger, more resilient families that can thrive in today’s challenging world. This training is a testament to the mission’s dedication to empowering families and promoting spiritual growth.
The event’s impact is expected to be felt beyond the training itself, as participants return to their communities equipped with new knowledge and skills to support families. By strengthening family bonds and promoting spiritual growth, the Southern Mindanao Mission is contributing to the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
