SMM: Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) Department Honors Tantangan Mayor in โ€œSalamat Mayorโ€ Recognition Program

The Southern Mindanao Mission (SMM) Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) Department recently spearheaded the โ€œSalamat Mayorโ€ Program on March 23, 2026, in the municipality of Tantangan, South Cotabato. This initiative serves as a formal platform for the Seventh-day Adventist Church to express its gratitude toward local government leaders who have demonstrated exceptional support for faith-based humanitarian efforts and community development. Hosted at the Tantangan Seventh-day Adventist Church, the event brought together high-ranking SMM administrators, including President Pastor Nildo S. Mamac, and municipal officials led by Honorable Mayor Temee Joy T. Gonzales. The program was characterized by a spirit of unity, featuring meditative sessions, musical tributes, and a powerful keynote from Pastor Mamac on the vital intersection of religious liberty and public service.

A significant highlight of the gathering was the presentation of a plaque of appreciation to Mayor Gonzales. This award recognized her steadfast partnership and her leadership in fostering an environment where community welfare and spiritual growth can thrive side-by-side. In her response, Mayor Gonzales reaffirmed her commitment to uplifting the lives of her constituents through continued collaboration with religious organizations. The event concluded with a dedicatory prayer for the local leadership, symbolizing a strengthened bond between the church and the state. By honoring those who champion religious freedom and social service, the Southern Mindanao Mission continues to build bridges that facilitate peace and holistic progress within the region.
